DALLAS – Nov. 19, 2015 – Fashion for a Passion presented by Audi Dallas gave guests from all over the Dallas community a fresh take on Asian American fashion, music and art at its 7th annual event on Nov. 7 at 7 for Parties in the Design District. Through ticket sales, live and silent auctions, a raffle and additional donations, nearly 450 guests raised enough funds to complete Against The Grain’s 2015 goal of almost $43,000, net, all of which will go to the Dallas-based non-profit’s supported orphanages and underprivileged children in Asia, scholarship fund and community outreach programs for 2016.

“We are so grateful to our amazing volunteers, sponsors, board and, of course, our guests, for making Fashion for a Passion such a success,” said Against The Grain President and Co-Founder Tammy Nguyen Lee. “In keeping with the spirit of ‘going Against The Grain,’ we were excited to introduce a few new elements this year, including live musical performances during each designer’s runway show, a new jewelry designer, children swear and menswear, a beautiful art on display and for auction by four 2015 ATG Artistic Scholarship finalists/winners and our inaugural wrap party celebration so guests could continue celebrating.”

Music from special guest performer Larry g(EE) and 2015 Kollaboration Dallas winner Yut and The Hot Four accompanied models as they strutted down the runway in looks from designers Becky Hollands, JOLYNN Kids, Nikki Li, Mysterious by NPN, Sukan, Danh Ta and Watters. Guests continued the fun immediately following the event with live music from one of ATG’s scholarship winners, Hannah Sansavath, as well as Dallas-based musical performers Robbie G and Peter P and JONAVI.

Veteran emcees LeeAnne Locken and CBS 11 Morning News anchor Elizabeth Dinh were joined by lifestyle blogger Tiffany Hendra of SanctuaryofStyle.net and Ben Smithee, CEO at The Smithee Group, who were both panelists at Against The Grain’s 2015 Groundbreakers Speak: A Conversation with Asian American Movers and Shakers in August.

Praise for Fashion for a Passion:

“It’s impossible to leave Fashion for a Passion without feeling inspired by the art, culture, and music that is showcased. That’s exactly why I love FFAP — it gives artists a platform to unashamedly express who they are, and that’s beautiful.” – JONAVI, Musical Performer (Twitter & Instagram)

“I thought FFAP this year was a huge success! ATG always does an amazing job bringing together a wonderful mix of designers and always strives to make each year better than the last.” – Joanne Hong, Designer, JOLYNN Kids

“You can’t go wrong being part of this amazing organization because, as a designer, I truly have the opportunity to share my story and let my passion be my voice. Also, the venues get better each year. I look forward to the day when Against The Grain Productions hosts Fashion for a Passion in other cities.” – Danh Ta, Designer
