Orphanage Update: Cambodia

DSCF1856     Thanks to your support, we were able to expand our assistance to orphanages in Cambodia this year! Many special thanks to Rev. Sy Seng Ouk and his wife Mrs. Esther  Ky (parents of ATG advisor and long-time friend  Thear Suzuki) who recently visited our supported orphanages and gave us the report below. Volunteers from local Cambodian churches helped identify the orphans with the most needs. The $1,500 donation from ATG provided food and school supplies to 52 orphans in four provinces (Kandal, Takeo, Kampot and Kompong Chnang):

  • 52 boxes of noodles
  • 834 kg of rice (16 kg of rice for each orphan to last 45 days)
  • 52 boxes of soy sauce
  • 52 boxes of fish sauce
  • 52 boxes of sardines
  • 260 writing books
  • 28 boxes of pencils

We are thankful and ‘glory be to God’, who answered our prayer for helping Cambodian orphans. And we thank you all who have donated the love donation. – The Church Board

Thank You Notes from the Cambodian Orphans

All purchases were made in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, under the guidance of faithful volunteers then delivered directly to the orphans. All travel expenses were also generously absorbed by our volunteers to help make 100% of this donation available to the children. Thank you so much to our volunteers Rev. Sy Seng Ouk and Mrs. Esther Ky, Mr. Ngoun Rith, Mr. SokKry, Mrs Bin Navy, and Mr Leng Sok Srun!
