2015 Fall Community Grant Cycle
Dallas Women’s Foundation invests in women and girls and empowers women’s philanthropy to build a better world.
Dallas Women’s Foundation funds programs in the following areas:
- Prevention of violence against women/children
- Economic justice for women and girls – welfare to work, job training, career planning, removing barriers to obtaining / maintaining employment
- Prevention / early intervention for girls – teen pregnancy prevention & intervention; self-esteem building; mentoring; deterrence from the use of drugs & participation in gangs
- Educational enhancement for women and girls – deter truancy and/or dropping out of school, promoting higher education, promote basic education, English as a second language, STEM programming
- Workforce development; literacy/e-literacy; community technology development
- Access to healthcare
- Operating Funds – Dallas Women’s Foundation does provide funds for operating expenses
- Capacity Building Grants
- Special Focus:
- Housing for women ages 75 years and older
- Organizations and/or programs that serve women in suburban areas outside of the City of Dallas.
- Organizations and/or programs that serve the Asian American/Pacific Islander community
Dallas Women’s Foundation will accept applications for programs and operations designed to move public and private institutions toward policies or practices that favorably impact the status of women and girls in Dallas, Collin and Denton counties.
Dallas Women’s Foundation will accept applications for programs and/or operating support designed for community engagement/organizing of women and girls in Dallas, Collin and Denton counties. Engagement grants will support programs/projects that involve more people, from awareness through action.
Maximum grant request per applicant is $30,000 for a year.
Foundation Priorities & Core Values
Priority will be given to funding programs that include elements of the following:
- Effect long-term, positive changes to help women succeed in reaching their full potential
- Expanded choices and opportunities for women and girls
- Evaluation tools that include measurement for effectiveness with clear definition of program success
- Programs specifically designed to take into consideration the gender-specific needs and differences of women and girls

The Foundation also encourages projects developed in consultation and collaboration with other agencies, and which promote coordination, cooperation and sharing among organizations. Effective use of volunteers, as well as board diversity and involvement, are equally encouraged.
Eligibility Requirements
- Organizations must have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service (dated within the last 10 years)
- At least 50% of the clients benefitting from the grant funding must be residents of Dallas, Denton, or Collin County
- At least 75% of the clients benefiting from the grant funding must be women and/or girls
- Previous grantees must be current on evaluation submissions
- Only online applications will be accepted
- Grant recipients from the 2015 Spring Community Grant Cycle are not eligible to apply for the 2015 Fall Community Grant Cycle
