South KoreanWhat does it mean to you to “Go Against The Grain?”
“‘Going Against The Grain’ to me is about living your life and doing what you love with no apologies and no regrets. Living your dream no matter what anyone says and thinks.”
What made you decide to pursue a career in this industry?
“I love the strategy and creativity in advertising and marketing. Creating a solid brand for a client and seeing it in the market is very rewarding especially when it goes international.”
What have been some of the challenges you faced/lessons you learned as an Asian American in this field?
“Marketing and adverting has been traditionally a male dominated field. With the population growth of Asians and other ethnic markets, I think there has been a great need for diversity (ethnicity and gender) in marketing. Personally, I have not experienced many challenges since I carved a niche for my company and have set us apart from our competitions.”
What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment, and why?
“I am the sole owner of a United States Patent. It taught me to persevere, stand for what I believe in and create a solution for a need in the market.”
What’s up next?
“I’m looking forward to getting my patented design to market.”
