JONAVI

JONAVI combines the charm of R&B with the familiarity of pop to create honest, innovative music.  Her unique vocals welcome you into a relaxing, yet groovy musical stir everyone can relate to and enjoy.

In just a few short years, she’s already racked up performance credits that include multiple performances for the Recording Academy, in addition to the annual Fashion for a Passion, among many others.

Her debut single “Not for Me” was released in November, 2015. Despite a marketing budget of zilch, within the first month of its release, the song garnered radio spins in 23 markets in the United States.

Manager Joey Pore sums it up well, saying, “Her warm and jovial spirit is infectious, and you can feel the authenticity in her lyrics. She’s telling you a story that’s new, but familiar, and every bit of it is real. She cares so deeply about every word that goes into every song, every chord, every sound–the essence of each song is truly her.  Whether she’s hanging out with you one on one or hanging out with a huge crowd, she’s the same creative, artistic, genuine individual, and that’s what makes her truly unique.”

A longtime and beloved collaborator with ATG, her song, “Perception,” is featured in the trailer of ATG’s latest documentary-in-production, Light of Day.

Yut and The Hot Four

Yut Chia, aka Yut and The Hot Four, is a Colombian violinist of Chinese descent, who came to New York City at the age of three in pursuit of the American Dream. As a young child, he was inspired by classical music that he heard and had always wanted to play the violin. However, despite a lifelong interest in the violin, he did not have the opportunity to start playing till the age of 12.

Yut began his classical training and eventually attended Queens College with full scholarship, under mentorship from renowned professors including Daniel Philips (The Orion String Quartet). His hard work and talent paid off. Yut started to make a name for himself through playing in the subways. He gained recognition as an up and coming violinist to watch through numerous major media outlets including TheNew York Daily News, The New York Times and the front page of aol.com.

As leader and founder, Yut was inspired to form Yut and the Hot Four because he wanted to entertain people and to reach new audiences.

“Music is about bringing people with emotions and making them interact. That’s what I try to do when I play. It’s all I’m in to.” He also wanted to create new arrangements and fresh sounds by combining classical technique with a more contemporary tate.

Yut and the Hot Four is the premiered violin-centric music group of the New York Times. Finalists in Kollaboration and 1st prize winners of CUNY’s Got Talent, Yut and the Hot Four is a contemporary EDM music group with a constantly rotating roster of first class musicians based in NYC. Though the group typically consists of string players, Yut and the Hot Four has collaborated with various other instrumentalists, and vocalists, including beatboxers. Featured by various artists ranging from Robert De Niro to Cyndi Lauper, Yut and the Hot Four has had the opportunity to perform in many of New York City’s finest concert halls throughout the five boroughs. Yut and the Hot Four also has a very active concertizing schedule for private performances and venues. Each of the rotating musicians has an intensive background in classical performance techniques, which allows us to come together as a cohesive group to form the backbone for any work we are performing.

What does it mean to you go Go “Against The Grain?”

“To ‘Go Against The Grain’ means to work hard to pursue your dreams! It means don’t let anyone stop you or let you bring you down. Instead try your hardest at what you do, set a good example in your community, and never give up, no matter what anyone tells you.”

Why is it important/significant to you to be involved with this 10th Fashion for a Passion charity event?

“It is important/significant to be involved with this year’s Fashion for a Passion, as it is the final one in the books. Being the last show, it should end with a bang and raise the most money it can for all the causes!”
