Luisa Mendoza received her Bachelors of Communication from St. Louis University in 1993. She moved to Texas in May of 1996 to attend the Art Institute of Dallas and received her Associate’s Degree in Video Production in September of 1997.
Upon graduation from the Art Institute, Luisa was hired at AMS Pictures (then AMS Productions), quickly working her way up to Senior Director of Photography as well Production Department Lead. Over her 17 years at the company, her projects went on to win Telly Awards, including a “Best Documentary” win at the USA Film Festival for The Power of Harmony: The Story of the Turtle Creek Chorale (2005).
Luisa became a full-time freelance DP in May of 2013, building a successful career shooting documentaries, commercials, corporate videos and reality TV projects for NFL Films, HGTV, Animal Planet and Discovery.
A respected colleague of President/Founder Tammy Nguyen Lee and one of the few female Directors of Photography in the industry, Luisa is honored to join the production team of Light of Day.
